Data Refresh Operator
Anonymise and mask SAP test data
Test with production-like data, without plain-text data on customers, employees or suppliers in QA, test and sandbox. With Data Protect, masking is part of every DRO run – no additional tool required.
The problem with copies from production
Test systems have different authorisations from production: developers, external consultants and key users work there with extensive permissions. If production data ends up unchanged in these systems, names, addresses, bank details and contract data are visible to far more people than necessary.
With conventional client copies, masking is handled by separate tools and additional steps in the process. Every additional step costs time – and is a point at which something can be forgotten.
What Data Protect does
- Find data that needs masking
- Data Protect helps you track down data that should be masked – before it ends up in test systems.
- Manage profiles centrally
- You manage masking profiles and rules in one place: in the control system, from which all runs are also controlled.
- Apply during export or import
- If masking takes place during export, the data leaves production already masked. Alternatively, the rules are applied during the import into the target system.
- Part of the run
- Masking is a step in the DRO process and can be scheduled in playbooks. There is no separate switch between tools.
- Traceable
- Every run is logged in full and can be traced in the control system at any time.
Tool and responsibility
You decide together with your data protection team which data in your test systems has to be masked and in what form. DRO provides the tools to implement these requirements reliably and repeatably with every refresh.
In the demo, we show you Data Protect live and discuss your requirements for test data.
