We are Velvet Mind, an SAP consultancy from Hamburg specialising in finance, logistics, IS-U and SAP Basis. We develop the Data Refresh Operator (DRO): software for SAP S/4HANA that creates client copies from a time slice – for example from the last 90 days instead of decades of history, including every dependent document. Non-production systems become significantly smaller and cheaper to run, and can be refreshed quickly and repeatedly.
Consistency instead of a date cut-off
A payment from last month belongs to an invoice, the invoice to an order, the order to a contract from years ago. DRO follows these dependencies across the object graph until it is verifiable that nothing is missing. This keeps the target client functionally operational.

Traditionally, this means starting exports by hand, monitoring runs, copying files, locking users and working through checklists. Until Monday. And every copy drags the entire history along with it – into QA, test and sandbox, which as a result become almost as large as production.
